Venture Lead - Payments

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Venture Lead - Payments in Ireland.

This is a 0→1 venture-building role focused on launching a new crypto-native payments business built on Bitcoin infrastructure. You will take protocol-level capabilities and transform them into real-world payment products spanning remittances, merchant payments, and programmable or agentic transactions. The role combines product leadership, venture strategy, and hands-on execution in a fast-moving crypto environment. You will define the roadmap, validate market opportunities, and build the first product squad from the ground up. Acting as both product leader and external ambassador, you will engage with partners, ecosystems, and industry stakeholders to drive adoption. This is a high-autonomy position where you will operate at startup speed with strong technical backing and institutional support.

Accountabilities

• Define and execute the product portfolio roadmap across multiple payment verticals including remittances, merchant payments, and programmable transactions.
• Lead customer discovery, pilot programs, and design partnerships to validate product-market fit.
• Build, structure, and lead a dedicated product and engineering squad from early-stage formation through execution.
• Drive end-to-end product development from concept to launch, delivering foundational platform releases within 6-18 months.
• Align closely with R&D teams on protocol capabilities, technical constraints, and upcoming infrastructure upgrades.
• Develop early commercial traction through strategic partnerships, distribution channels, and revenue-generation opportunities.
• Represent the venture externally at conferences, partner meetings, and within broader crypto and fintech ecosystems.
• Continuously iterate on product direction based on market feedback, adoption signals, and ecosystem developments.
  
  

Requirements

• 3-7 years of experience in payments, remittances, fintech, or crypto, with strong preference for hands-on crypto payments experience.
• Proven track record of building or contributing to crypto payment products in production environments.
• Strong understanding of Bitcoin and EVM-based ecosystems and their application in financial products.
• Experience in product strategy, customer discovery, and building commercial partnerships.
• Familiarity with programmable money concepts, agentic payments, or AI-driven financial workflows is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in 0→1 or early-stage environments and scale products from inception.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to move fast, prioritize effectively, and operate under ambiguity.
• Comfortable acting as an external representative of a venture, including speaking at events and engaging with partners and ecosystems.
• Strong leadership skills with readiness to build and lead a team from the ground up.
