About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled AI Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Södertälje. This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on building and operating production-grade AI systems—from cloud infrastructure and data pipelines to intelligent agent-based applications.

You will work at the intersection of AI engineering, backend development, and cloud infrastructure, playing a key role in designing scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient AI solutions that drive real business outcomes.

AI Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade backend systems using Python or TypeScript
• Build and manage AI-powered applications, including LLM-based agents and workflows
• Architect and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS (ECS, Fargate, S3, RDS, Cognito)
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Set up and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
• Design and implement RAG pipelines, vector search, and enterprise data querying solutions
• Ensure AI systems are accurate, performant, scalable, and cost-efficient
• Collaborate across teams to integrate AI capabilities into business-critical systems
• Monitor, debug, and continuously improve system reliability and performance

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in Python (mandatory) or TypeScript
• Proven expertise with Docker and containerized deployments
• Solid experience with AWS services: ECS, Fargate, S3, RDS, Cognito
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)
• Practical knowledge of LLMs, AI agents, and tool integration
• Experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, and SQL-based data access
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and backend architecture

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with agent-based AI systems in production environments
• Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS)
• Exposure to enterprise data platforms and knowledge graphs
• Understanding of cost optimization strategies for AI systems
