Scrum Master – Technical Projects

Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Scrum Master – Technical Projects. This position involves managing complex projects within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring seamless agile delivery aligned with business goals.

Pay rate range (CAD): $73/hr – $77/hr

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and lead Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Manage multiple large cross-functional teams or pods, ensuring delivery of project milestones within scope and timeline.
  • Guide teams on agile best practices, Kanban methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work alongside the Project Manager to coordinate project delivery, stepping into responsibilities when needed.
  • Monitor and report on team performance, impediments, and project progress.
  • Support backlog refinement sessions and help prioritize work based on business value.
  • Promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability across teams.

Desired Skill-Set

  • 10+ years of total professional experience with a focus on agile delivery.
  • Strong technical background with experience in application development.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and SAFe preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of Kanban and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to facilitate Scrum ceremonies and drive team performance.
  • Understanding of project delivery lifecycle and SDLC processes.
  • Ability to step into project management responsibilities as needed.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Background in application development or technical project management.
  • Prior experience working in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar agile management platforms.
  • Experience working with large, complex enterprise programs.
