Dublin / Hybrid / Daily Rate contract

About the Position

We are seeking a proactive and engaged Senior Software Engineer to join on a contract basis. Your experience will amplify the team’s capabilities and help deliver high-impact projects. You will work across multiple initiatives, interfacing directly with team leads and executives, with fast decision-making cycles ranging from hours to days.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Building and features across the stack (frontend, backend, APIs, and supporting services)
• Designing and developing scalable backend systems with a focus on security, reliability, and performance
• Contributing to architectural and technical design decisions, with clear documentation
• Participating in code and design reviews, maintaining high engineering standards
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful product outcomes
• Mentoring and supporting other engineers through knowledge sharing and best practices
• Continuously improving systems, codebases, and team practices
• Deploying code frequently using modern CI/CD pipelines

The Person:

Core Experience

• 4+ years’ experience building and delivering software in production environments
• Strong experience working on large-scale systems (millions of users or equivalent)
• Proven ability to contribute across the full stack (frontend, backend, APIs)
• Experience designing systems with high availability, security, and maintainability in mind
• Ability to take ownership of moderately complex technical problems

Technical Skills

• Backend development experience (PHP preferred)
• Frontend development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern frameworks)
• Experience with databases and data systems (e.g. MySQL or similar)
• BigQuery
• Familiarity with cloud-based or distributed systems, including containerised services

Domain Experience

Experience in account security, fraud prevention, or trust & safety environments is highly desirable

Remuneration Package

A strong rate is on offer.
