DevOps Engineer – On‑Prem & Bare‑Metal Automation

We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us industrialize how software is rolled out to physical systems used outside a traditional datacenter. The goal is simple: make deployments repeatable, faster, and safer, by replacing manual steps with automation.

You’ll work close to engineering teams and take ownership of provisioning, release automation, and platform reliability for environments where performance and uptime matter.

What you’ll work on

• Automating bare-metal provisioning and OS/application rollout over the network (turning “runbooks” into reliable workflows)
• Improving build & release pipelines to increase deployment frequency and reduce risk
• Managing configuration and environments with an IaC-first approach (config management + declarative delivery)
• Packaging and shipping components using container tooling where it makes sense
• Building strong monitoring/logging/alerting so issues are detected early and understood quickly
• Embedding security practices into the delivery flow (credentials, hardening, traceability)
• Keeping documentation practical and useful for operating the platform

What we’re looking for

• Several years of experience in DevOps / SRE / Linux infrastructure
• Strong Linux skills (Ubuntu-based environments are common)
• Comfortable scripting (Python and/or shell)
• Experience with configuration management and automated deployments
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and modern delivery practices
• Solid networking fundamentals (addressing, routing basics, firewalling, troubleshooting)
• Based in the Netherlands and able to work hybrid (commutable to the west of NL)
• Professional working proficiency in English

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with network boot provisioning / bare-metal tooling
• Experience with CI systems, Git-based workflows, and artifact management
• Exposure to virtualization and/or a public cloud
