Lead Software Engineer

Beam.lu is an international software engineering company headquartered in Luxembourg, with delivery centers in Portugal and Luxembourg. We partner with leading organizations across industries to build next-generation SaaS platforms, specializing in digital transformation, cloud engineering, and enterprise-grade solutions.

We are looking for a Tech Lead to guide one of our engineering teams in designing and delivering scalable software systems.

Role Overview

As a Tech Lead, you will own technical decision-making within your team, drive engineering excellence, and ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions. You’ll be both a hands-on contributor and a mentor, fostering collaboration between backend, frontend, QA, and DevOps while promoting best practices in software engineering and cloud deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical design, architecture, and implementation of backend and cloud services.
• Architect scalable and secure solutions using .NET Core, PostgreSQL, and Azure services.
• Provide technical mentorship, code reviews, and hands-on guidance to engineers.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other Tech Leads to align on delivery priorities.
• Ensure software engineering best practices: clean code, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native principles.
• Diagnose and resolve performance, reliability, and security challenges.
• Drive technical alignment across teams through engineering discussions and architecture reviews.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a Tech Lead or Senior Developer role.
• Strong expertise in .NET Core (C#), Entity Framework, and API design.
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL (schema design, optimization, performance tuning).
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure SQL/Postgres, Functions, Service Bus, API Gateway, CI/CD with Azure DevOps).
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or similar) and their integration with backend services.
• Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative workflows.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions.
• Fluency in English (spoken & written).
