Java Solution Architect

. Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join our team in Malmö. This role requires a strong balance between hands-on technical architecture and real-world delivery execution, with a primary focus on Java full‑stack technologies and modern cloud-native solutions.

You will be responsible for shaping and driving end-to-end solutions across backend, frontend, integration, and cloud infrastructure layers. Working closely with product owners, developers, DevOps engineers, and delivery teams, you will ensure solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business outcomes.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Design, own, and evolve end-to-end solution architectures across multiple systems and domains
• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into scalable technical designs
• Lead architectural decisions covering backend, frontend, integrations, data, and cloud infrastructure
• Stay reasonably hands-on with code, configuration, and technical reviews where required
• Guide teams on architectural patterns, coding standards, security, and quality practices
• Drive solutions from design through implementation, deployment, and production support
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and delivery teams to enable smooth execution
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks and dependencies across solutions
• Ensure architecture aligns with modern delivery practices, performance, security, and compliance needs

3. Required Technical Skills (Java Full Stack Focus)

• Strong expertise in Core Java and enterprise-grade application development
• Proven experience with Spring and Spring Boot for backend services
• Design and development of RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures
• Frontend development experience using modern frameworks such as:
• React, Angular, or similar JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks
• Experience with event-driven and asynchronous integrations using platforms such as Apache Kafka
• Solid understanding of database technologies, including MariaDB or similar relational databases

4. Architecture & Delivery Experience

• End-to-end architecture and delivery experience across complex, distributed systems
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS, including:
• AWS core services
• AWS Lambda and serverless patterns
• Identity and access management using AWS IAM
• Experience with containerization and orchestration, particularly Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration and process automation tools such as Camunda (Camunda 8 preferred)
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using tools such as:
• Jenkins
• GitHub (version control, pull requests, collaboration)
• Experience with code quality, security, and maintainability tools such as SonarQube
• Ability to make pragmatic architectural trade-offs balancing ideal design with delivery constraints

5. Soft Skills & Collaboration

• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate architectural decisions
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including:
• Product Owners
• Developers
• QA, DevOps, and Operations teams
• Comfortable influencing technical direction through collaboration rather than authority
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
• Experience mentoring and guiding engineers and junior architects
• Ability to operate effectively in complex, multicultural, and distributed environments

6. Location & Working Model (Malmö-Based)

• This role is based in Malmö, with regular collaboration with local and distributed teams
• Hybrid working model, combining on-site work with flexibility for remote working
• Candidates must be eligible to work in Sweden

7. Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
• Typically 8+ years of experience in software development and engineering roles
• 3+ years of experience in a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or similar role
• Demonstrated experience delivering solutions in complex, enterprise-scale environments
