Senior Android Engineer

Senior Android Engineer - Jetpack Compose | 36 hours | Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced Senior Android Engineer for a strategic project.

You will contribute to building secure, high-quality Android solutions for digital identity and authentication across the European Union. This is an excellent opportunity to work on socially relevant, business-critical software in an international environment with plenty of room for technical impact and personal initiative.

About the role As a Senior Android Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and further evolution of Android applications within a major digital identity programme.

You will work on complex, security- and compliance-driven functionality with high standards for usability and reliability. You will join a larger team where currently 3 FTEs are working on the product. The project has a tight timeline, with the first implementation planned later this year.

• Start date: 8 June 2026
• Duration: Until 31 December 2026 (with option to extend)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Hybrid: 1 day per week mandatory on-site (2 days preferred)
• Location: Amsterdam
• International, informal setting with a lot of room for initiative and ownership

About you

• Minimum 7 years of experience as an Android Engineer
• Expert in Kotlin + Java
• Extensive experience with Jetpack Compose and modern UI/UX
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Azure Pipelines
• Experience in guiding/mentoring technical work and junior/medior developers
• Strong communication skills (Dutch is a plus, English is sufficient)
• Experience in a corporate / enterprise environment is a strong advantage
