Why you?
We are looking for a Junior Information Security Consultant to join our Security Strategy & Advisory business unit.
As a Junior Information Security Consultant, you'll be at the heart of complex cybersecurity projects, supported by your senior colleagues. To manage this wide-ranging responsibility, we need motivated colleagues capable of mobilising a wide variety of skills, not only technical ones.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Our Information Security Consultants advise our customers on how to improve their cybersecurity maturity and resilience. We assist our clients during the whole security journey, from assessing the current state, to proposing security improvements and managing implementation and changes.
Concretely, as a Junior Information Security Consultant, you could:
- Provide high value services to customers in the light of Approach’s Information security offering/business:
- Perform security and risk assessment at client (e.g. perform our ACAM® (Approach Cybersecurity Assessment Methodology) to evaluate their cybersecurity maturity.
- Implement information security management systems (ISMS) based on the renowned ISO27001, governance, risk management and other processes based on regulations and standards.
- Be the driver of change to manage, coordinate or pilot security projects in line with the decisions.
- Propose security improvements, define priorities and create security roadmaps to follow.
- Accompany your client through the change management process.
- Develop and implement plans to anticipate, address, and mitigate the effects of various business interruptions
- Provide assistant-CISO services to our customers (i.e. provide strategic and technical advise, organizing the information security related activities, supporting customers to manage security incident(s), …)
- Thanks to your energy, your proactivity and smile, you’ll soon evolve in your responsibilities and contribute to make our Security Strategy & Advisory business unit grow by (i.e.):
- Actively contributing to the development of resources and methodologies used by your team.
- Sharing your knowledge about topic news to your team (e.g. market needs, trends, technology evolutions that impact information security, …)
- Contributing to develop a business/commercial approach towards potential customers.
- Further, following and coaching other junior colleagues.

Your profile
- You hold a Master’s in management/economics fields (Business Engineering, Management & IT, ...)
- If you can combine it with IT related courses, it could be your launch pad.
- You have a first relevant experience of minimum 1 year on Information Security topics.
- You have a strategic thinking. You are able to understand senior management considerations (strategic level), you can learn how to evaluate risks their business encounters and learn how you can help them in their decision.
- You can communicate with external people from varied background and level of expertise. You communicate your clear and concise speech assertively and with self-confidence. This way, you make them trust in our methodologies and solutions.
- You feel a strong interest for cybersecurity and can already show us how you are getting knowledge on it.
- You can fluently speak English and French (mother tongue). Bilingual (FR/NL) is a plus.
Considered as a plus:
- First knowledge of regulatory and/or sector specific standards and frameworks can help us (e.g. ISO27000, NIS2, DORA, SOC2, CIS Critical Security Controls, ...)
