Role Overview

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be the visionary leader responsible for defining and executing the firm’s global technology strategy, delivering a resilient and scalable technology ecosystem, and driving innovation across all functions. This role bridges technical capabilities with business strategy, ensuring that AI-driven tools, robust cybersecurity, and advanced infrastructure directly contribute to revenue generation, operational efficiency, and client experience.

The successful candidate will lead the firm through a multi-year digital transformation, overseeing data science, AI adoption, IT infrastructure, and cyber security within a strictly regulated asset management environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology & Digital Strategy

• Develop and implement a 3-year technology roadmap aligned with the firm’s strategic objectives to maintain competitive edge in investment performance and client services.
• Modernize legacy investment, portfolio management, and reporting systems to cloud-native architectures.
• Evaluate and implement fintech solutions, including blockchain applications for trade settlement, AI for predictive analytics, and automated reporting systems.
• Ensure 99.99% reliability in transaction processing and technical resilience.

2. AI & Data Leadership (The 2026 Agenda)

• Lead the integration of generative AI and machine learning (ML) for investment research, risk management, and personalized customer support.
• Oversee AI governance, ensuring models are ethical, transparent, and comply with emerging AI regulatory requirements.
• Champion a data-driven culture, utilizing advanced data analytics to improve investment decision-making.
• Implement "agentic AI" and automate manual workflows to reduce operational costs.

3. Cybersecurity & Operational Resilience

• Establish, maintain, and evolve a comprehensive cybersecurity framework to protect data and assets against sophisticated threats.
• Partner closely with the CISO to implement "secure-by-design" systems, ensuring data privacy and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, MiFID II, SEC regulations).
• Proactively monitor and manage AI security risks, such as data poisoning and model inversion.
• Develop real-time threat detection and disaster recovery strategies.

4. Leadership & Governance

• Manage and mentor a diverse, high-performing technology team (engineering, data science, IT infrastructure).
• Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, and critical partnership contracts.
• Collaborate with the Board and Executive Committee on technology initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.
• Experience: 15+ years of experience in technology leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior C-level or VP role, preferably within asset management, banking, or a high-end fintech firm.
• AI/Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in implementing AI/ML tools, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), and managing complex data architectures.
• Cybersecurity Knowledge: Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, regulatory compliance, and risk management in financial services.
• Leadership: Demonstrated success in digital transformation, building high-performance teams, and leading technology projects within budget.
• Communication: Exceptional leadership skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Performance Metrics (KPIs)

• Successful deployment of AI tools for investment/client services.
• Reduction in operational risk through enhanced cybersecurity protocols.
• Technology infrastructure uptime and system scalability.
• Percentage of automated vs. manual operational processes.
