🚀 Software Architect (Java / Microservices)

For one of our clients based in the Zurich area, we are currently looking for an experienced Software Architect to support the evolution of a modern enterprise application landscape within the public sector and digital administration environment.

In this role, you will work closely with agile development teams, take ownership of architectural topics, and help drive the transition toward scalable microservice-based solutions. This position combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic architecture responsibilities in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

🔧 Your Responsibilities

• Support agile teams during the rollout of new software releases and architectural changes

• Drive and further develop modern microservice and cloud-based architectures

• Identify and reduce technical debt while continuously improving software quality and maintainability

• Act as technical lead in projects and contribute to key architecture and design decisions

• Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and product teams to define scalable technical solutions

• Ensure clear and sustainable architecture documentation and technical standards

• Contribute to CI/CD improvements and support application operations within Kubernetes environments

• Serve as a technical advisor and sparring partner for software engineering teams

• Analyze technical requirements and support the resolution of complex system and customer-related topics

💡 What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 5 years as a Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead

• Strong background in Java, Spring Boot, Maven, and microservice architectures

• Solid understanding of cloud-native technologies, containers, and Kubernetes

• Experience with SQL databases and technologies such as Oracle, Hibernate, and Liquibase

• Familiarity with tools such as GitLab, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

• Independent, solution-oriented, and collaborative way of working

• Fluent German and good English skills
