Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to design and develop new products, systems, and components, or manage the improvement of existing products. This includes leading teams on technical product development focusing on embedded systems, software architecture, and ensuring that all software and hardware meet customer and legal requirements. Responsibilities also include developing robust architectures that support the business and mission goals, ensuring product quality, and leading innovation and efficiency in products.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership :
- Ensure the optimal allocation of its collaborators to development projects by providing the necessary technical support to Project Management.
- Manage and produce documentation regarding system architecture, traceability with customer requirements, and system verification criteria.
- Conduct model-based simulations to verify algorithm design options and suggest improvements.
- Develop software and hardware architectures, manage software requirements, and perform risk analysis.
- Support field return analysis and promote continuous improvement of internal design standards.
- Cooperate with key stakeholders to build up the project plan and the project budget for each feasibility
- Study, issuing a specific product development plan (work packages, risks, etc.)
- Assure work packages are in line with the project plan, with the expected quality level and timing, Promptly reporting to management any deviation from the plan.
- Assure the quality and quantity of work performed by teams and expected to maintain control and Vision over multiple projects and areas of expertise.
- Map and monitors the development process, proposing and implementing process Improvements, in order to increase its efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support field return analysis and promotes the continuous improvement of internal design standards and methods.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Several years of experience in embedded development with different platforms and languages, in particular: Cortex-A & Cortex-M RTOS platforms, C, C++, Python, Linux, Zephyr RTOS.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisation skills
- Engineering skills for the specific discipline
- Problem solving and continuous improvement
- Good knowledge of SysML/UML
- Good knowledge of the system engineering principles
- Good knowledge of the international standard applied to the automotive
- Good knowledge of vehicle communication bus (LIN, CAN, etc.).
- Knowledge of automotive standards (ISO/TS 16949, Automotive SPiCE) and safety-critical systems (ISO 26262).
- Expertise in embedded systems, MQTT, 4G/5G networks, and RTOS environments.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Degree in electronic/ computer science or similar qualification
- 5 – 8 yrs in engineering
- Must be professional and able to demonstrate a flexible, and pro-active approach to their work, going the 'extra mile' when required
- Successful experience of having worked at a similar level in other roles
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
- Certifications such as IATF and experience with AUTOSAR architectures.
