PLATO has offices on or near Indigenous communities across Canada, in Fredericton, Miramichi, Sault Ste Marie, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Victoria.We are currently looking for an experienced Scrum Master for a contract opportunity from May to Dec of 2026, with the possibility of renewal.** Please note that a current Government of Canada Reliability Clearance, or higher, is required. Candidates will be asked for their file number at the time of screening.Responsible for facilitating Agile team delivery within a SAFe environment, ensuring effective collaboration, continuous improvement, and alignment to Program Increment objectives. This includes coaching the team on Agile practices, removing impediments, and supporting delivery using Azure DevOps to manage and track work. You will work closely with the Product Owner and stakeholders to refine backlog items, maintain delivery transparency, and ensure adherence to Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD). You are expected to support and drive the team in delivering against its commitments and value.Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring the team remains focused, aligned, and productive.
• Coach the team on SAFe and Agile principles to promote continuous improvement and effective delivery practices.
• Identify, manage, and remove impediments that impact team progress; escalate risks, issues, and dependencies as needed.
• Support Program Increment (PI) planning and drive alignment to PI objectives and team commitments.
• Partner closely with the Product Owner and team to support backlog refinement, ensuring user stories are clear, prioritized, and meet DoR standards.
• Manage and maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) boards, ensuring accurate tracking of work items, strong visibility, and overall ADO hygiene.
• Promote transparency by tracking progress, forecasting delivery, and communicating status to stakeholders.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven 5+ years of experience working as a scrum master or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SAFe Agile and Scrum frameworks.
• Experience using Agile tools such as Azure DevOps (preferred) or Jira.
• Solid project management skills, including planning, coordination, and delivery tracking.
• Proven risk management skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate delivery risks.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
