As a DLT / System Architect, you will help the ECB's settlement and payment services leverage DLT technology. This role sits at the intersection of blockchain architecture and regulated financial systems, and requires someone who can bring clarity to complex technical environments and translate institutional requirements into robust, production-oriented solution designs.

Description

You will join a cross-functional team working on strategic initiatives related to wholesale payment infrastructure, tokenized financial markets and DLT-based systems. Day-to-day, you will define solution architectures, assess technical options, support the design of smart contract and permissioned blockchain components, contribute to technical documentation, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that delivery remains aligned with business, regulatory and operational requirements. You will act as a bridge between strategic intent and technical execution, helping Laminar and its clients move from high-level concepts to robust, auditable and production-grade solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design DLT and blockchain-based solution architectures for regulated financial infrastructure.
• Translate business, regulatory and institutional requirements into technical designs and implementation workstreams.
• Assess and document architectural options across permissioned blockchain networks, smart contracts and tokenized assets.
• Support the definition of components related to tokenization, settlement, interoperability, privacy and access control.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, data and client teams to ensure consistency between design and delivery.
• Support testing, validation and technical assurance activities, conducting functional and non-functional test.
• Engage with senior internal and external stakeholders in structured, decision-ready discussions.

Minimum Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, technical consulting or technology delivery.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with blockchain, DLT, smart contracts or distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of EVM-based ecosystems, permissioned blockchain networks or enterprise DLT architectures.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into structured documentation and decision-ready outputs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Mathematics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Hyperledger Besu, Ethereum or other enterprise blockchain frameworks.
• Understanding of wholesale CBDC, digital euro, tokenized deposits, stablecoins, tokenized securities or financial market infrastructure.
• Knowledge of ERC standards, tokenization frameworks or asset lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with ISO 20022, payment systems, settlement models or market infrastructure processes.
• Experience with GenAI tools applied to software delivery, technical documentation, testing, knowledge management or architecture analysis.
• Experience using testing tools: Postman or SoapUI
• Experience designing or reviewing smart contracts, blockchain integrations, APIs or distributed application components.
• Solid understanding of security, privacy, access control and operational resilience considerations in regulated environments.
