Founding Backend Engineer (Senior)

Founding Backend Engineer @ Wowoo [Hybrid — İstanbul / Remote until September]

We're looking for a senior backend engineer who can own the full server-side stack: APIs, AI orchestration, and infrastructure. You'll build the systems that power our products for millions of users, and you'll use AI tools in your own development workflow.

Wowoo is a small, fast-moving app company building consumer products used by millions. In the last 6 months we grew 10x to eight-figure ARR, making us one of the fastest-growing non-gaming consumer app teams globally. Our products including ChatPrime, FaceForm, Render AI, and Plant AI reach millions of users. We treat AI as a core part of how we work, not a side experiment.

Overview

• AI-first. We work alongside AI agents daily for coding, design, data, and experimentation. You're expected to be comfortable with this.

What You'll Do

• Design and maintain backend services, APIs, and the AI orchestration layer.
• Ship user-facing features. You're not just an infrastructure person, you build product too.
• Integrate and manage multiple AI providers with fallback and queue systems.
• Monitor, optimize, and reduce infrastructure costs over time.
• Use AI coding tools to accelerate development and code review.
• Build AI monitoring and alerting that keeps systems healthy.

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years backend development (Python or C#).
• Production cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Solid understanding of microservices, async architectures, and message queues.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.).
• Database skills (PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB).
• Comfortable with AI coding tools in your workflow.

Nice to Have

• Experience building multi-model AI orchestration systems.
• High-traffic consumer application background.
• Real-time systems knowledge (WebSockets, SSE).
• Experience with payment integrations and billing systems.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm, KEDA, or similar orchestration and CI/CD tools.
