Network Engineer – Enterprise Campus, Data Center & SD-WAN (Cisco / Fortinet)

Location: Toronto Office

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

Role Description

We are seeking a Network Engineer with hands-on experience supporting enterprise campus and data center network environments. This role focuses on network troubleshooting, performance optimization, security operations, and the implementation and support of network infrastructure and collaboration technologies.

Typical Day in the Role

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and network/system issues
Investigate network faults and arrange scheduled upgrades and fixes
Identify, design, and implement new network solutions and improve existing network efficiency
Provide and maintain network documentation
Perform capacity planning for network infrastructure
Participate in product selection, evaluation, and deployment of emerging network technologies
Develop, enhance, and execute security operations processes, including real-time security analysis and incident response
Respond to incoming calls, alarms, and emails related to client data and voice issues and client change requests
Perform network performance and quality monitoring, system analysis, and performance tuning

Essential Skills

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with enterprise campus and data center networks, including 3-tier and spine-and-leaf architectures
Experience with network firewalls, routers, switches, NAC, and Wi-Fi
Hands-on experience with network protocols including BGP, OSPF (multi-area), and IPSEC VPN (static and dynamic)
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams configuration, including Teams devices (Rooms, Phones), call queues, call forwarding, and related features

Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting technologies such as:

Cisco ISE, Cisco Meraki
FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyser
ADVPN, SD-WAN
Cisco switches (Catalyst and Nexus)
VSS, FHRP, vPC
802.1x, 802.1q, 802.3ad
RADIUS, QoS, SNMP

Experience using network analysis and monitoring tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and SolarWinds

Desirable / Additional Skills

Experience with RightFax (cloud)
Experience with Python or PowerShell
Network certifications such as Fortinet NSE4/NSE7, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, MS-720, or similar
Experience with WAN routing, LAN switching, and firewall administration/security management

Experience Level

6–8 years of relevant network engineering experience
