Full-Stack Software Engineer - API

We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer

Compensation: $175,000 - $235,000 (including superannuation), employee equity plan grant & world class benefits.

We're seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that power the API's behind our web and mobile applications. Your primary focus will be on crafting efficient, high-performance code using languages like C#, Go, Java, or Python. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design and build software to delight our customers and implement best practices for security, scalability, and operational efficiency. Your expertise in cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, containerization and orchestration tools will contribute to the seamless deployment and maintenance of our backend infrastructure. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, a passion for technology, and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this role.

About The Role

• Writing high quality and maintainable code in a modern programming language like C#, Golang, Java or Python.
• Experience in designing and developing highly scalable backend services for RESTful or GraphQL APIs to serve web and mobile applications that solve real-world problems.
• Understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes for deploying and managing backend applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and implement and maintain scalable solutions.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, document technical designs, and present ideas clearly. Manage priorities, deadlines and deliverables. Own and operate with autonomy in solving problems, always keeping the customer at the forefront.
  
  

Requirements

About you:

• 3+ years of experience in a backend engineering role designing, building, and operating modern distributed systems, using modern programming languages like C#, Golang, Java or Python.
• Extensive experience working with cloud-based applications, containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• System architecture design experience and understanding; space/time complexity, API contract design.
• Good understanding of distributed and scalable systems - you can design, build and maintain complex systems with a desire to work on deep and interesting technical problems.
• Ability to work in fast paced teams and comfort in communicating remotely through chat, docs, video calls, and other collaborative online tools.
