We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to join our IT Operations team at Sensilab, our production and commercial hub in Slovenia. This is not an entry-level role - we are looking for someone who already knows their way around IT support and infrastructure, and who is ready to take the next step in their career.

You'll be part of our international IT team, reporting to the IT Operations Director based in the Netherlands. Day-to-day, you'll work from our Slovenian office alongside a technical colleague who knows the local environment inside out.


What will you do?

As IT Support Engineer at Sensilab, you will be the main hands-on IT presence on site. Here is what that looks like in practice:

  • You are the go-to person for IT support for our colleagues in the Slovenian office, warehouse, and production facility - logging, triaging, resolving or escalating issues through our service desk.
  • You manage and monitor the local network and infrastructure, keeping an eye on performance and stability, catching issues before they become incidents.
  • You get your hands dirty with hardware - rack and stack, cabling, configuring switches and servers, decommissioning old equipment. Physical infrastructure is a real part of this job.
  • You work alongside our local IT partner for more complex network and server work, acting as the internal VHC point of contact and making sure we stay in control of our own environment.
  • You contribute to improvement projects alongside your day-to-day support work - things like infrastructure upgrades, security baseline work, and onboarding new tooling.
  • You collaborate closely with your local colleague and the wider VHC IT team, sharing knowledge, maintaining documentation, and working in line with our standards and processes.


What are we looking for?

Experience & level

  • Around 3 years of experience in IT support or helpdesk - this is your second or third role, and you are moving from junior support into a medior position.
  • You have worked in environments where you were expected to figure things out independently, not wait for someone to walk you through every step.
  • Experience at a Managed Service Provider (MSP) is a strong plus - you will understand the pace, the variety, and the accountability that comes with it.


Technical skills

  • 2–3 years of experience in an IT support role, covering both first- and second-line support.
  • Hands-on experience with physical hardware such as servers, network equipment, and structured cabling.
  • Basic understanding of network management, monitoring, basic configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting end users with day-to-day IT issues, from laptop and peripheral problems to software and access requests.
  • Comfortable working with ticketing systems and maintaining clean documentation as you go.
  • Experience with, or a willingness to take ownership of license management, vendor coordination, and IT contract administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune and Autopilot
  • Familiarity with server environments, endpoint management, and asset tracking is a bonus.

  • You can pick up small projects alongside your regular support work without losing the ball on either.
  • You are practical, organized, and you follow through.
  • You are genuinely ambitious about growing in IT - this role has room to grow with you.


Languages

  • Slovenian: native or equivalent.
  • English: solid working level - you will be using it daily with the broader IT team.
