Senior iOS Engineer

We are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer who will write modern Swift, ship to a global audience, and help shape one of the world's most iconic real-time apps.

Start: May/June

Duration: 6 months initial

Location: Hybrid setup - consultant must be based in Stockholm

What You'll Do

  • Design and ship user-facing features in Swift using SwiftUI and UIKit, with async/await for modern concurrency.
  • Translate complex requirements, real-time data, map interactions, push alerts, into reliable, performant code.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions (MVVM, modularization, dependency injection) and help drive the codebase toward a Swift-first, modular future.
  • Write thorough unit, snapshot, and UI tests; raise the bar for quality through code reviews and pair programming.
  • Collaborate daily with Android engineers, designers, backend engineers, QA, and product to deliver cohesive cross-platform experiences.
  • Maintain and improve our CI/CD pipeline (Fastlane, Xcode Cloud) to keep releases fast, predictable, and safe.
  • Mentor mid-level engineers and share knowledge through RFCs, tech talks, and documentation.

Who You Are

  • 5–8 years of iOS experience with a track record of shipping high-quality, high-traffic consumer apps.
  • Expert in Swift; deeply comfortable with both SwiftUI and UIKit and the trade-offs between them.
  • Solid grasp of modern concurrency (async/await, structured concurrency, actors).
  • Fluent in app architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, Coordinator) and dependency injection.
  • Strong testing instincts and hands-on with XCTest, snapshot testing, and CI/CD tooling.
  • Performance-minded: comfortable in Instruments profiling CPU, memory, and rendering.
  • Clear communicator who gives and receives feedback well and lifts the people around you.

Bonus

  • Real-time data on mobile (live feeds, websockets, high-frequency UI updates).
  • MapKit or third-party map SDKs and custom map-layer performance tuning.
  • Background modes, Core Location, push notifications, and Live Activities.
  • StoreKit 2, App Store optimization, or experimentation frameworks.
