Python Software Engineer (Production Data & Model Services)

• Location: Poland – hybrid Wrocław or Kraków
• Contract: B2B via Hays Poland
• Rate: 160 PLN/h - 200 PLN/h

Key Responsibilities

• Build and run production-grade Python applications (APIs + batch jobs) with strong SDLC: code reviews, testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation.
• Develop robust data pipelines (batch / near-real-time) reading/writing governed storage with Parquet/columnar formats and approved patterns.
• Turn quant and data science prototypes into deployable packages/services (typed, modular, versioned) and expose scoring/analytics via APIs or scheduled jobs (not notebook-only).
• Collaborate with platform teams on Databricks/Spark connectivity and (when needed) optimize PySpark workloads.

Your Qualifications:

Must-have

• Strong Python engineering: packaging (wheels/pyproject), typing, clean architecture, error handling, performance mindset.
• Proven production SDLC: Git workflows, automated tests, CI/CD, code reviews, release discipline.
• Strong Pandas + NumPy in production pipelines; comfortable with data formats like Parquet and governed data access patterns.
• Experience building/operating APIs/services (FastAPI/Flask or similar).
• Comfortable working in governed platform environments (e.g., Databricks / containerized dev platforms).

Nice-to-have

• scikit-learn for production feature/scoring pipelines (reproducible transforms, model packaging/versioning).
• PySpark / distributed processing experience.
• IDE-to-Databricks workflows (e.g., Databricks Connect).
