Role Description
This is not a purely managerial role.
We are looking for a hands-on cybersecurity leader with strong practical experience in security operations, engineering, and service delivery. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to build scalable cybersecurity processes and services.
As Head of Cyber Security & Security Services, you will lead and develop Q-Sec’s cybersecurity practice across both external client environments and internal group operations. You will work closely with leadership, engineers, SOC analysts, consultants, and clients across multiple countries and industries.
The role combines:

You will also participate in shaping the broader cybersecurity and service strategy of the company.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Q-Sec’s cybersecurity and managed security services practice
- Manage and mentor a growing team of security engineers, analysts, and consultants
- Improve and scale SOC, MDR, Incident Response, and managed security capabilities
- Build and optimize cybersecurity operational processes and service delivery standards
- Participate in defining cybersecurity, operational, and service development strategy
- Support both external clients and internal fintech companies across Europe and the US
- Work hands-on with security technologies, architecture, and operations when needed
- Collaborate with clients on security architecture, audits, risk management, and security roadmaps
- Drive operational maturity across incident response, vulnerability management, hardening, endpoint protection, and cloud security
- Participate in hiring and development of technical talent
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term technology and cybersecurity initiatives
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, consulting, or security engineering
- Experience leading technical teams, security operations, or cybersecurity services
- Proven experience building or improving cybersecurity processes and operational security functions
- Strong hands-on experience with technologies such as:
- Microsoft Sentinel / SIEM
- Fortinet
- EDR/XDR
- Cloudflare
- Vulnerability Management platforms
- Cloud and infrastructure security solutions
- Strong understanding of:
- SOC/MDR operations
- Incident Response
- Network Security
- Cloud Security
- Windows/Linux environments
- Security architecture
- Experience working with fintech, regulated, or high-risk environments
- Knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIS2, DORA, PCI DSS, CIS, or NIST
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent English
Nice to have
- Experience in MSSP, MDR, or consulting environments
- Experience building cybersecurity services from the ground up
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, GCIH, or similar
- Experience with threat modeling, Red Teaming, or attack simulation
- Experience working in international or fast-growing environments
- Ukrainian language skills are a plus
