Energy One is an Australian-based, ASX listed company with offices distributed widely in Australia, France, Belgium, and UK. Our teams work on more than 17 products, all at a different stage of their life cycle. Energy One trading desks operate in Europe and Australia.

Energy One delivers applications and services to assist participants in the wholesale energy sector operating and trading energy.

The trading services division in Australia has experienced significant growth in recent years, now managing well over 30 assets on behalf of customers, which can be attributed to multiple factors including:

• The increase of renewable energy, operated by increasingly small actors.
• It is not cost-effective for these types of customers to employ 24/7 operational staff to manage assets.
• The experienced trading team has a demonstrable history of delivering customer objectives.

What you will be doing

The role presents an opportunity to make your mark contributing to the development of a comprehensive portal that enables customers to seamlessly access and review reports related to their assets and the energy market. The role also entails enhancement of existing products in the Energy One suite. These projects will challenge you to think and will require high level of analysis and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable experience of and interest in developing high-performance and elegant solutions to complex problems.

Your Responsibilities

• In line with company objectives and client needs design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance software.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Work within an Agile team, following best practices.
• Work closely with business analysts, customers and other stakeholders.
• Adherence to code quality and security standards.
• Analyse system specifications and propose accurate technical solutions.
• Actively participate in SDLC process development and improvement.
• Communicate clearly within the software development team.
• Assist our customers to provide support for products in production.

Qualifications and Experience

• 7+ years commercial software development experience.
• Extensive experience working with Java and Spring Boot, min of 5 years.
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• A comprehensive understanding of, and experience working in an agile team (e.g., using Scrum).
• Experience designing and building enterprise grade applications.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and service-based architecture.
• Good SQL knowledge working on multiple RDBMS (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Comfortable working on Windows and Linux based operating systems.
• Cloud computing experience (AWS).
• A good understanding of OO programming concepts.
