JOB DESCRIPTION


We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The Network Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network technologies, a strong understanding of network protocols, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


Network Design and Implementation:

  • Design and deploy scalable, secure, and resilient network architectures to meet the organization's business requirements.
  • Configure and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.

Network Security:

  • Implement and enforce network security policies, protocols, and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security risks.

Network Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor network performance, traffic, and usage patterns using network monitoring tools.
  • Identify and troubleshoot network issues, bottlenecks, and outages to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Optimize network configurations, protocols, and routing algorithms to improve efficiency and resource utilization.

Security Monitoring and Incident Response:

  • Monitor security alerts and logs from various sources, including intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), security information and event management (SIEM) systems, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
  • Conduct forensic analysis and root cause analysis of security incidents to identify the extent of compromise and recommend remediation measures.

Threat Intelligence and Risk Management:

  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and trends through threat intelligence sources, industry reports, and security forums.
  • Assess the organization's security posture and risk exposure and recommend mitigating controls and risk management strategies.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

  • Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure rapid recovery of network services in the event of a disruption or disaster.
  • Conduct regular disaster recovery drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of recovery procedures.
  • Test backup systems regularly verify data recovery capabilities in the event of a disaster (COLO).

System Documentation:

  • Create and maintain documentation for IT systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Ensure documentation is kept up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure TPAC's compliance with PCI-DSS and other regulatory and contractual obligations. Monitor and tune current IT PCI-DSS-compliant network and web systems. Be an active participant in TPAC Change Control. Audit licensing to ensure compliance and effective use of all licenses. Provide scheduled compliance reports as needed.

IT Projects:

  • Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT solutions that meet business requirements.


MINIUMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS


Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related experience.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, MPLS).
  • Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or Palo Alto Networks.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus, DLP, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards, such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).
  • Ability to participate in a departmental rotating week 24/7 On Call schedule.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • (CompTIA Security+ / CCNA) are a plus.
