Network Administrator contract in enterprise networking and security

Join a large public sector organisation supporting critical services across New South Wales. You will be part of a collaborative ICT team responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing network infrastructure that supports essential operations.
Your new role
- The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, monitoring, patching and maintenance of the organisation's ICT network and wireless endpoint design, including configuration of gateway devices, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Key accountabilities include:
- Assist with network monitoring, patching and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and escalating problems as necessary to maintain network performance to meet user demand.
- Assist with network access, monitoring, control, evaluation, and documentation practices used to secure the organisation's network
- Perform operational procedures and tasks reliably and consistently to reduce the risk of unplanned outages
- Assist with internet access gateway firewalls, proxy servers, reverse proxy servers, content filtering, access policies, and high availability configurations.
What you'll need to succeed
- Recent graduate or early-career candidate with strong foundational IT networking knowledge
- Good understanding of enterprise/corporate IT data networks (routing, switching, basic networking concepts)
- Exposure to networking fundamentals, understands IP addressing, subnetting concepts
- Proactive, eager to learn, and able to take ownership of tasks
- Strong communication and willingness to work in a team and operational environment
- A current NSW Driver's Licence
