System Engineer, Industrial AI

Advian
Finland · Full-time · Not Applicable

Are you excited to build real-world systems where software, hardware, and AI come together?

At Advian, we’re looking for a hands-on System Engineer to work on the hardware integration and deployment of Industrial AI solutions for our industrial customers. These solutions combine AI software, industrial automation, cameras and other sensors, and when needed, mechanical components.

You may still be early in your engineering career, but already have hands-on experience, the ability to work independently, and the motivation to grow into Industrial AI and Edge AI systems.

In this role, you’ll work on systems where software, hardware, and real-world environments come together — and see how your solutions perform in practice.

ADVIAN

Advian turns data into real value by tackling tough challenges with expertise and methods you won’t find elsewhere. Our core strengths are Edge AI, GeoAI, and the intelligent use of data. We work across industries with technically demanding and innovative projects, often solving problems where standard solutions don’t exist. Our flat and self-directed organizational culture gives you the autonomy to drive impact while benefiting from support among highly skilled colleagues.

THE ROLE

As a System Engineer, you work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering Industrial AI solutions from concept to deployment. Projects combine IoT, computer vision, real-time data, and industrial automation — and require close collaboration between software and hardware.

You take responsibility for the hardware and system integration aspects of Edge AI projects, ensuring that solutions are technically sound, well-integrated, and reliable in real-world industrial environments.

Your daily responsibilities include:

  • Design installation, including selection of electronic components and devices
  • Procure, testing, configuring, and calibrating equipment
  • Deploy and commission solutions in customer environments
  • PLC programming and automation integration
  • Support mechanical design when needed (e.g. 3D printing)
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation
  • Maintain lab environments and equipment
  • Support other experts in electronics and automation topics

What We Are Looking For

We would fit each other perfectly if you have:

  • Practical understanding of industrial hardware, networking and device integrations
  • Experience in industrial automation, PLC programming and communication protocols
  • Structured and detail-oriented way of working
  • Interest in hands-on work with hardware and systems in real-world environments
  • Ability and willingness to produce clear technical documentation
  • Fluent Finnish and ability to work on-site in Espoo when needed

It is considered a plus if you have:

  • Experience with mechanical design and CAD tools
  • Interest or experience in computer vision or camera-based systems
  • Basic programming skills (e.g. Python)

WHY ADVIAN

You’ll work on real-world systems that are deployed to production environments, while developing your skills across hardware, automation, and AI together with experienced colleagues.
