About SCRYPT
SCRYPT is the operating system for digital assets.
Banks, asset managers, family offices, fintechs, and payment service providers run on SCRYPT - for trading, custody, asset management, and settlement. Regulated in Switzerland, operating globally, built for scale.
About the Role
We're hiring a Compliance Lead - Blockchain Surveillance to own SCRYPT's transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics, and Chainalysis tooling across the group's regulated activities. This is a dedicated role, not a generalist compliance seat. You'll own the blockchain surveillance function end-to-end - Chainalysis configuration, alert triage, investigation workflows, sanctions screening, Travel Rule operations, and the link between on-chain activity and our compliance reporting.
Reports to the Head of Compliance.
The Bar
Small team, senior bar, AI-native by default. We hire builders who ship, not managers who maintain. One great hire beats three average ones, so we hold the bar even when the seat is empty. Ownership from week one. Velocity from day one. If you need a long runway before you contribute, this isn't the role.
Key responsibilities
- Own Chainalysis (KYT, Reactor) configuration, rule tuning, and alert workflows
- Run transaction monitoring for SCRYPT's trading, custody, and asset management businesses
- Lead blockchain investigations - wallet attribution, cluster analysis, source-of-funds tracing
- Operate Travel Rule compliance for crypto transactions, including VASP identification and PII data exchange
- Run sanctions and PEP screening (OFAC, SECO, UN, EU) against on-chain and off-chain data
- Liaise with FINMA, VQF, and MROS on suspicious activity reporting and investigations
- Partner with engineering on the technical integration of compliance tooling into SCRYPT's operations platform
- Build the standards and documentation for blockchain surveillance across the group's entities (Switzerland, Malta MiCA entity)
Job requirements
Experience
4–8 years in blockchain compliance, transaction monitoring, or financial crime investigation. Hands-on Chainalysis (KYT and/or Reactor) operator is a hard requirement. Elliptic or TRM Labs equivalent acceptable.
Domain
Strong understanding of on-chain forensics - wallet clustering, mixers, bridges, DEX flows, cross-chain analysis. Knows how illicit flows actually work, not just the textbook.
Regulatory
Working knowledge of Swiss AML (GwG/AMLA, FINMA AMLO, VQF rules), Travel Rule (FINMA crypto guidelines, FATF), and sanctions frameworks (OFAC, SECO).
Tech-native
Comfortable with SQL, blockchain explorers, and integrating compliance tooling into operational workflows.
Languages
Fluent English required. German a plus.
Why choose SCRYPT
- Real ownership of a function - not a slot in someone else's org chart
- A team where AI tooling is native, not a “transformation initiative”
- Direct access to founders, board, and clients. Flat hierarchy, no middle layers
- Meaningful equity in a Series A institutional crypto company building toward unicorn scale
- Swiss-anchored, globally operating - regulatory rigor where it matters, volume where it counts
