Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Scientist in Material & Surface Analytics. In this role, we are looking for someone with proven expertise in surface analytics, a collaborative mindset, and a strong interest in research, analytics, and digitalization.   • Cooperation in research projects and requests involving all aspects of material & surface analytics
  • Responsible for X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), particle size distribution (PSD e.g.: laser diffraction, dynamic light scattering and dynamic image analysis), as well as powder density and specific surface area equipment, including basic service
  • Independent execution of analyses with powder characterization as main focus
  • Development, optimization and adaptation of powder characterization methods
  • Training and support for colleagues confronted with powder characterization issues
  • Counselling and support for internal requestors regarding powder characterization
  • Autonomous management of all activities required for operation of the equipment
  • Autonomous handling of "requests" and reporting according the 4-eyes-principle
  • Participation in various R&D projects
  • Information, guiding and counselling in area of expertise

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Sciences or related degrees, PhD prefered
  • Experienced in powder analysis, especially X-Ray Diffraction (qualitative and quantitative phase analysis) and determination of particle size distribution
  • Acquainted in the use of surface analytical methods such as microscopy, REM / EDX; FTIR etc.
  • Basics in surface energy measurements and electrochemistry
  • Proficiency in computer usage and the ability to work effectively with various software systems
  • Openness to learning and adopting new digitalized processes to enhance efficiency and innovation
  • Independent but team player, initiative, investigative, analytical in thought and action, resilient and communicative
  • Fluent in English, German knowledge preferred
