Responsibilities
- Provide technical support services remotely or onsite as per service level agreement including Breakfix.
- Emergency support.
- Software upgrades.
- 24 x 7 rotational on-call standby duty.
- Trouble tickets follow up till a satisfactory solution is concluded. To liaise with appropriate cross-team members and vendors when required.
- Derive processes and SOPs for implementation such as Method of Procedures (MOP).
- Develop test cases and conduct hardware & software regression tests on new software/hardware prior to deployment or proof of concept of solutions.
- Perform configuration change for network enhancement and validation of new service/feature.
- Perform technical professional services for projects including high/low level design documents (HLD/LLD), design validation test (DVT), implementation, commissioning, acceptance test, migration and system documentation.
- Perform periodic preventive maintenance on customers’ networks.
- Prepare reports and documentations outlining findings and solutions when required.
- Continually research new technologies and educational opportunities.
Requirements
- Tertiary education in Computer Networks or Information Technology.
- Possess an analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and cope with pressure.
- Able to work flexi hours.
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
- Possess technical certifications in Routing/Switching/Security/Wireless/Data Center domains will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and hands on experience in the following areas:
- IP network services and solutioning for Telcos, ISP, Mobile, Broadband Service Providers.
- LAN/WAN technologies such as VLANs, STP/RSTP, OSPF, ISIS, BGP4, MPLS-TE, MPLS-VPN, CGNAT, Segment Routing, QoS, Multicast, 802.1x, IPv6. OSI and TCP/IP.
- Network Testing Tools such as Spirent or Ixia.
- Knowledge or experience in the following areas is an added advantage:
(i) Packet Optical Network solutions such as IPoDWDM.
(ii) Data Center, Virtualization, Cloud Computing, SDN and NFV.
(iii) Linux/Unix system configuration, administration, shell scripting and programming languages such as Python.
(iv) Network automation tools such as Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
