Job Description- Vulnerability Management / Vulnerability Analyst

Location : Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Vulnerability Management Analyst to identify, assess, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities across the organization s infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will work closely with IT, security, and operations teams to strengthen the organization s security posture and reduce cyber risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular vulnerability scans on servers, endpoints, applications, databases, and network devices.
  • Analyze and prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity, risk, and business impact.
  • Coordinate remediation activities with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams.
  • Monitor vulnerability management lifecycle including detection, reporting, remediation, and validation.
  • Conduct security assessments and support patch management processes.
  • Generate dashboards, reports, and risk metrics for management and audit purposes.
  • Track remediation SLAs and ensure timely closure of vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain and optimize vulnerability scanning tools and processes.
  • Assist in incident response and security investigations when required.
  • Stay updated on emerging threats, CVEs, and cybersecurity best practices.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management concepts and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7 InsightVM.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, networks, databases, and web application security.
  • Familiarity with CVSS scoring, patch management, and remediation workflows.
  • Understanding of common security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
  • Experience with cloud security concepts in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and reporting abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, or Qualys/Tenable certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with SIEM and ticketing tools is preferred.
