Job Title: Technical Scrum Master
Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid)
Compensation: $60-$70 hourly
Job Type: Long term contract
A large healthcare organization is seeking a Technical Scrum Master to support its Infrastructure & Foundation engineering groups. These teams are responsible for delivering platform capabilities, DevOps tooling, cloud readiness, and architectural foundations that enable enterprise-wide systems.
This role partners closely with engineering leaders, technical leads, product partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure strong execution, clear communication, and predictable delivery outcomes. The ideal candidate brings deep Scrum mastery, technical fluency, strong communication skills, and a data-driven approach to improving team health and delivery performance.
This is a hands-on Scrum Master role focused on ownership of Agile execution, metrics, and continuous improvement across multiple fast-moving engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and daily coordination for Infrastructure/Foundation Scrum teams, ensuring alignment, clarity, and consistent delivery.
- Partner with engineering leadership, Tech Leads, Principal Engineers, and PMO/Scrum peers to remove blockers and improve delivery practices.
- Build, maintain, and present delivery metrics including velocity, capacity, throughput, team health, blockers, and trend-based insights.
- Provide clear, executive-ready reporting on delivery status, risks, and improvement actions.
- Support transition from PI planning to a continuous delivery operating model, helping teams adapt to ongoing release flow.
- Coordinate frequent release cycles (often daily for infrastructure work), ensuring scheduling, communication, and stakeholder alignment.
- Maintain visibility across large, multi-team environments, tracking dependencies, risks, and cross-team impacts.
- Act as a true owner of Scrum processes—driving follow-through, accountability, and delivery quality (not a delegator role).
- Quickly ramp into the technical ecosystem, including GitHub workflows, SSO integrations, micro-frontend architecture, Angular, Ionic Capacitor, DevOps pipelines, and enterprise data services.
- Use data and observation to proactively identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement across teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting technical, DevOps, cloud, or infrastructure teams.
- Technical fluency—able to engage confidently with engineers, Tech Leads, and Principal Engineers.
- Experience supporting multiple teams in parallel within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; able to translate technical delivery into clear, actionable insights.
- Experience building and presenting Agile metrics to leadership.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to navigate engineering, product, and leadership conversations effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on ownership mentality (not a “facilitator only” Scrum Master).
- Strong ability to drive alignment, improve team health, and remove delivery friction independently.
- Experience working in large-scale engineering environments (multiple teams and dependencies).
- Comfort supporting rapid release cycles and continuous delivery workflows.
- Familiarity with DevOps, cloud platforms, micro-frontends, Angular, mobile wrappers (Ionic Capacitor), GitHub, and enterprise data systems.
- High curiosity and ability to ramp quickly into new technical domains.
- Healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
