Senior Frontend Software Engineer (m/f/d) - IT

Background

As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, you will be part of a cross‑functional agile team and play a key role in developing high‑quality software solutions that enable accurate and timely diagnostic results. Your work will directly contribute to long‑term strategic ambitions in diagnostics and improve outcomes for laboratories, customers, and patients.

The ideal candidate combines strong frontend engineering expertise with architectural thinking and leadership capabilities. You bring at least 5 years of hands‑on React experience, a passion for quality, and the ability to guide teams in complex, regulated environments.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional agile stakeholders (Product Owner, System Architect, Solution Architect, System Engineers, etc.) to analyse and translate complex business and customer requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Design and develop innovative frontend software solutions that comply with regulatory requirements and fulfil system quality attributes such as scalability, performance, reliability, maintainability, interoperability, and extensibility.
  • Promote and enforce best practices in software development, including clean architecture, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and oversee external development partners within an extended workbench setup, providing clear technical guidance, performing thorough code reviews, and ensuring seamless integration into the core team's workflow.
  • Act as a mentor and technical role model, empowering team members, encouraging collaboration, and contributing to a psychologically safe and high‑performing team environment.

Must‑Have Qualifications

Professional & Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Development or equivalent practical experience. Experience in embedded systems and/or regulated environments is a strong advantage.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience with React and modern frontend architecture.
  • Experience with Electron or Tauri is beneficial.
  • Experience in developing embedded user interfaces using Rust, C++, or similar technologies is an advantage.

Methodological & Leadership Skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in guiding and reviewing work delivered by external development partners.
  • Proven ability to analyse and solve complex technical and project challenges creatively and effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills that support cross‑functional value delivery, foster psychological safety, and encourage ownership and accountability within teams.
  • High intrinsic motivation to create meaningful impact for colleagues, customers, and patients.
