Our challenge
We are looking for a Project Manager who will serve as the tactical delivery leader for high-performing engineering teams across Capital Markets. Candidate will facilitate day-to-day execution, coach teams on agile practices, remove impediments, and ensure consistent sprint delivery while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Candidate's focus will be on maximizing team velocity and delivery quality through expert facilitation of agile ceremonies, proactive impediment removal, team coaching, and data-driven performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, track, and remove impediments and blockers that prevent teams from achieving sprint goals and maintaining velocity.
- Escalate systemic issues, cross-functional dependencies, and resource constraints to the Program Management Lead and Product Managers for strategic resolution.
- Work with technical leads and architects to resolve technical blockers, environmental issues, and tooling constraints.
- Partner with Product Managers to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and ensure teams have the information needed for successful delivery.
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more delivery teams, facilitating all agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure ceremonies are effective, time-boxed, and outcome-focused, maximizing team productivity and engagement.
- Work with Product Managers on backlog management, story writing, and acceptance criteria to ensure teams have well-defined, ready work.
- Facilitate cross-team coordination ceremonies including Scrum of Scrums, dependency management sessions, and integrated planning events.
- Create psychological safety and foster open communication within teams, ensuring all voices are heard and conflicts are resolved constructively.
Must-Have:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- 8+ years of agile delivery experience, with at least 5 years serving as Project Manager or Scrum master for software delivery teams.
- Proven track record facilitating agile ceremonies and coaching teams to high performance in fintech, capital markets, or enterprise technology environments.
- Deep expertise in Scrum, Kanban, and scaled agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, or similar).
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills with ability to develop team capabilities and foster agile mindsets.
- Excellent facilitation skills with ability to navigate difficult conversations, resolve conflicts, and build consensus.
- Data-driven approach to performance improvement with proficiency in interpreting delivery metrics.
- Outstanding communication skills with ability to translate team-level execution into program-level insights.
- Experience removing impediments and navigating organizational complexity to enable team success.
- Hands-on proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and agile management tools.
Nice to Have:
- Certifications such as CSM, A-CSM, CSP-SM, SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or ICP-ACC.
- Experience coaching teams through agile transformations and scaling agile practices across multiple teams.
- Understanding of capital markets operations, trading workflows, and regulatory requirements.
- Technical background or experience working with engineering teams on complex software systems.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery toolchains.
- Experience with team health frameworks and organizational change management.
