We are working with one of Australia's most recognised and trusted names in property – a company whose digital products are used by millions of Australians. Their engineering teams are building the next generation of data-driven residential platforms, and they need a seasoned Engineering Manager to help lead the charge.

The Role & Responsibilities

As Engineering Manager, you will oversee a large, distributed engineering function. Leading 5+ engineering teams responsible for delivering scalable, high-traffic residential data products. You will own the technical roadmap, drive delivery outcomes, and partner closely with senior stakeholders across a matrixed organisation.

• Lead and manage several engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
• Own formal performance management practices including goal-setting, structured feedback, and development planning.
• Drive technical roadmap delivery across residential data platforms, balancing short-term execution with long-term architectural vision.
• Oversee microservices architecture and guide the ongoing migration away from legacy Java systems
• Establish and champion DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and release excellence

Your Experience

• Demonstrated experience autonomously managing multiple engineering teams in a senior engineering leadership capacity.
• Strong background in formal people management, including structured performance management processes
• Hands-on or strong working knowledge of TypeScript, React, NodeJS, NextJS, and Java.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and API and async (messaging) integration patterns.
• Proven experience across multi-cloud platforms and implementing DevOps/CI/CD best practices.
