This role offers the opportunity to shape and scale a globally distributed HR and payroll platform that powers work for millions of people across more than 150 countries. You will work in a highly collaborative, remote-first engineering environment where autonomy, ownership, and technical excellence are deeply valued. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Express, ensuring scalable and maintainable architecture across systems.
- Build and optimize server-side APIs, business logic, and data models, primarily using Express and related backend frameworks.
- Develop responsive, component-driven frontend interfaces using React, including hooks, reusable components, testing, and performance optimization.
- Design and manage database schemas and queries in PostgreSQL, ensuring efficient data handling and system reliability.
- Create modular, reusable code across frontend and backend systems to improve development efficiency and product scalability.
- Perform debugging, testing, and code reviews to ensure high-quality, secure, and reliable software delivery.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and design teams while contributing to continuous improvement of engineering practices and tools.
- 8+ years of experience in full-stack software development with strong expertise in TypeScript-based development environments.
- Strong proficiency in modern web technologies including React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Express, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, asynchronous programming, and scalable system design.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Chai, React Testing Library, Storybook, and Cypress is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with cloud-based SaaS environments and production-grade distributed systems.
- Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders in a remote-first environment.
- Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset when delivering technical solutions.
