Job Purpose
This role is to manage and execute the processes of job analysis, benchmarking, and job evaluation to ensure that the organization’s job roles are clearly defined, aligned with market trends, and structured in a way that supports both internal equity and external competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct benchmarking studies to compare the organization’s job roles, responsibilities, and compensation packages with those of competitors or industry standards.
- Gather and analyze external salary data to assess the competitiveness of compensation for similar roles in the market.
- Evaluate market trends to ensure that the organization's compensation and job structures align with industry best practices and standards.
- Prepare and present benchmarking reports, offering recommendations for salary adjustments, benefits packages, and other compensation elements.
- Provide HR leadership and management with insights from benchmarking studies and their implications for the organization's compensation strategy.
- Perform job evaluations to determine the relative value of various roles within the organization, considering factors such as complexity, responsibility, and required skills.
- Develop or implement job evaluation methodologies (e.g., point factor, ranking, or classification systems) to ensure consistent, objective, and equitable evaluations.
- Promote internal equity by comparing job roles across the organization to establish fair pay grades and job classifications.
- Work closely with HR leadership to align job evaluation outcomes with compensation strategies, ensuring fair and competitive pay structures.
- Recommend adjustments to job roles, responsibilities, or compensation levels based on job evaluation results to maintain fairness and market competitiveness.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to ensure that job analysis, benchmarking, and job evaluation efforts support the organization’s goals and HR strategies.
- Support talent management initiatives by ensuring job roles are clearly defined and appropriately valued to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
- Maintain up-to date databases of job descriptions, evaluations, and benchmarking data to track changes and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Stay informed on industry trends related to job roles, responsibilities, and compensation to provide accurate and timely recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations by regularly auditing job evaluation and compensation practices.
- Prepare reports and deliver presentations to senior management and HR teams on findings related to job evaluations, compensation structures, and benchmarking activities.
- Support broader HR initiatives, such as performance management, training, and succession planning, by providing accurate and relevant job-related information.
Qualifications, Experiences, & Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or any equivalent would be preferable.
- 4 - 8 years of experience in human resources with 2-3 years of experience in using Mercer system for Job Evaluation, Job Analysis and benchmarking.
- Excellent MS Office skills.
- Good and proven analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of HR Management Information Systems and HR modules.
- Excellent team player and coordinator.
- Fluency in French language is a plus but not required.
- Excellent knowledge of the labor laws and regulations.
