Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Kaunas, Lithuania (Hybrid)

Overview

GLDS is building BroadHub.NEXT — a modern, multi-tenant platform powering real-world operations for broadband providers across North America.

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own the stability, performance, and reliability of production environments. This is not a traditional IT role — you will operate complex, multi-tenant infrastructure where uptime directly impacts customers. You will be responsible for keeping critical systems running under real-world conditions — troubleshooting, optimizing, and improving them continuously.

Tech stack: Linux (SLES/RHEL), Docker, VMware vSphere, Nginx, Apache HTTP Server, Nagios, Graylog

What You’ll Do

  • Operate and maintain production and staging environments (80% operations focus)
  • Manage Linux-based systems running:
  • Nginx
  • Apache HTTP Server
  • Deploy and support containerized services using:
  • Docker
  • Work within shared infrastructure clusters (multi-tenant environments)
  • Administer virtual infrastructure using:
  • VMware vSphere
  • Maintain and troubleshoot:
  • networking, firewalls, SSL/TLS, and connectivity issues
  • Manage:
  • system upgrades, patching, and security updates
  • Monitor system health using:
  • Nagios, Graylog
  • Respond to incidents (15-minute SLA) and perform root cause analysis
  • Support identity and access systems:
  • Microsoft Active Directory (AD, DNS, GPO, LDAP)
  • Automate operational tasks using scripting (Bash/Python)
  • Participate in on-call rotation with 15-minute response expectations

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on systems administration experience
  • Strong Linux administration (SLES/RHEL or similar)
  • Experience with web servers (Nginx, Apache) and containerized environments (Docker)
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware or similar)
  • Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, DNS)
  • Experience with monitoring (Nagios or similar) and centralized logging (Graylog or similar)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in live production environments
  • EU citizenship (or legal right to work in the EU)
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Nomad or other orchestration tools
  • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or hybrid setups)
  • Basic security practices:
  • vulnerability patching
  • firewall rule management
  • Automation tools (Ansible or similar)

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • You’ve owned production systems, not just configured them
  • You are comfortable debugging:
  • performance issues (CPU, IO, latency)
  • networking problems
  • container/runtime issues
  • You think in terms of:
  • reliability
  • repeatability
  • operational simplicity
  • You can stay calm and effective during incidents

Why This Role Is Different?

Most system admin roles focus on isolated infrastructure. At GLDS, you will:

  • Work on a multi-tenant platform at scale (~200+ environments)
  • Operate a system combining legacy + modern architecture
  • Directly influence platform reliability and architecture evolution

What We Offer

  • Real ownership and direct technical impact
  • Opportunity to operate and improve production systems at scale
  • Professional growth through hands-on operational and architectural challenges
  • Modern engineering environment with low bureaucracy
  • Flexible working hours
  • Hybrid work model in Kaunas
  • Work with both modern and legacy infrastructure technologies
  • Office snacks, drinks, and parking space available

Compensation

  • Salary: €4,500 – €6,000 gross/month (depending on experience; most senior candidates fall in the upper range)
  • Compensation is aligned with seniority, technical depth, and ownership of production systems
  • Performance-based salary growth tied to impact and responsibility
  • Opportunity to grow into higher-responsibility infrastructure / platform roles over time
  • On-call compensation or time-off policy for incident response participation

About GLDS

GLDS develops software solutions that help broadband providers manage subscribers, billing, provisioning, and operations. Our engineering team operates across the U.S. and Europe, with a strong presence in Kaunas, Lithuania, where we collaborate closely on architecture, development, and platform operations.

At GLDS, you will work on systems that are not theoretical — they are used daily by broadband providers to run their business.

Apply

You will be expected to troubleshoot real production issues — performance, networking, and container behavior — not just configure systems.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys running real production infrastructure, not just building pipelines.

If that sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you.
