Scrum Master

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to support the establishment and delivery of a strategic GIS Hub platform within Distribution SE. The platform will serve as the central GIS solution for enterprise GIS-related needs and is being developed using ESRI ArcGIS technologies.

The Scrum Master will play a key role in building and coaching a newly formed Agile Scrum team, driving Agile best practices, facilitating collaboration between business and IT stakeholders, and ensuring successful project delivery.

This role requires a strong Agile coaching mindset, stakeholder management capabilities, and prior experience leading Agile teams in complex enterprise environments. Experience with GIS platforms and ESRI ArcGIS is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Agile & Scrum Leadership

• Coach and guide the team in Agile/Scrum methodologies and principles.
• Foster self-organization, collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork.
• Ensure Scrum practices are understood, adopted, and effectively implemented.

Scrum Facilitation

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including:
• Daily Stand-ups
• Sprint Planning
• Sprint Reviews
• Retrospectives
• Remove blockers and shield the team from external interruptions during sprint execution.
• Support the Product Owner with backlog refinement and prioritization activities.

Team & Delivery Management

• Support the setup and scaling of the GIS Hub Scrum team.
• Assess and recommend additional resource requirements where necessary.
• Coordinate between business stakeholders, Vattenfall IT, and internal teams to ensure alignment and delivery success.
• Monitor team performance and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Project & Stakeholder Coordination

• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, deliverables, and resource tracking.
• Drive effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure Agile delivery processes are followed consistently across the program.

GIS Platform Enablement

• Support Agile delivery for GIS applications built on ESRI ArcGIS.
• Collaborate with the GIS Hub Manager, Solution Architect, Product Owner, and Development team to ensure smooth implementation.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have Skills

• 10+ years of overall IT experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
• Strong understanding of:
• Agile methodologies
• Scrum framework
• Empirical product development
• Proven experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing cross-functional Agile delivery teams.
• Ability to drive collaboration between business and IT stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GIS platforms and GIS-related projects.
• Hands-on exposure to:
• ESRI ArcGIS
• Enterprise GIS implementations
• Experience working in large enterprise transformation environments.
• Knowledge of Agile scaling practices.

Language Requirements

• Swedish language proficiency is mandatory.
