About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer (m/f/d) to join our team at HPC AG. This full-time, permanent position is based in either Harburg (Schwaben) or Lübeck. The role involves working on Prins.NET, our central project information system that enables comprehensive planning, management, documentation, and analysis of projects. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for the entire development stack, including database design, business logic, and user interface, ensuring seamless functionality for our internal teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in full-stack development, particularly with VB.NET and SQL Server, and will thrive in a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess several years of professional experience in software development, particularly with VB.NET within the .NET Framework or .NET Core. Strong proficiency in SQL Server and T-SQL is essential, with the ability to optimize queries and design efficient database schemas. Experience in frontend development using WinForms, WPF, or ASP.NET is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code, adhering to best practices and principles such as Option Strict On. Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and integration with Microsoft Graph API is advantageous. Knowledge of version control systems like Git and an understanding of CI/CD processes are also important. The role requires a structured, autonomous working style, excellent problem-solving skills, and fluency in German and good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance Prins.NET, ensuring its functionality and performance align with evolving project needs.
• Design, optimize, and manage SQL Server databases, including schema development, T-SQL scripting, stored procedures, performance tuning, and indexing strategies.
• Take full responsibility for the development stack, from data modeling and backend logic to frontend user interfaces, tailored to specific project requirements.
• Integrate internal systems and interfaces such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Graph API to ensure seamless data exchange and system interoperability.
• Refactor existing codebases to modernize and improve code quality and sustainability gradually.
• Conduct code reviews, implement testing procedures, and produce comprehensive technical documentation to maintain high-quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with various departments to understand their requirements, challenge assumptions, and develop effective, efficient solutions.
