Job Title: Senior Manager PMO

Department: Transformation Management Office

Reports to: Jens Rye, Enterprise Director, Program & Portfolio Management

Location: Riga, Latvia

The Senior Manager PMO is responsible for leading a team of Project Managers focusing predominantly on the Finance intersection of a broad set of large, enterprise initiatives. The role oversees project intake, prioritization, resource planning, and governance, while continuously improving project management processes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the new project intake process, ensuring a structured and transparent approach to evaluating new initiatives and their impact on the Finance department. The role includes facilitating the assessment and prioritization of projects in alignment with strategic objectives. In close collaboration with stakeholders, the Senior Manager PMO helps define project scope, business value, and overall feasibility to support implementation.
  • Oversee resource planning and allocation across projects, ensuring resources are effectively utilized to support priorities. The role includes managing budgeting processes and ensuring the efficient use of human resources. In addition, you will work closely with leadership teams on forecasting and capacity planning.
  • Act as a key point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and strong relationships. The role includes providing regular updates, along with relevant insights and recommendations to support decision-making. Additionally, the PMO Senior Manager supports alignment across business and delivery teams.
  • Monitor projects’ performance, risks, and dependencies to support effective delivery and proactive issue management.
  • Lead or support project delivery on relevant high-priority enterprise projects
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of Project Managers, ensuring they are supported in their day-to-day work and long-term growth. The role involves setting clear goals, monitoring performance, and actively supporting each team member’s professional development.
  • Establish and maintain PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistent ways of working across the organization.

Required Functional Capabilities

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management with a demonstrated track record of experience from all phases of project management, ranging from initiation and problem definition through scoping, design, planning, execution, and benefit realization.
  • Understanding of PMO frameworks, governance structures, and project management methodologies, with the ability to apply them effectively in practice.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams in complex project environments, often with both matrix and cross-functional setups.
  • Experience in managing new project intake processes, prioritization of initiatives, and end-to-end portfolio management to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to engage with stakeholders and facilitate clear, effective communication across diverse teams. You are seen as a strong collaborator with the ability to work across a broad set of different stakeholders and personalities.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to drive progress by consistently following up on issues, proactively mitigating risks, and actively supporting project teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of outcomes.
  • Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams and bridge if necessary is a plus. You can also be hands-on if needed, supporting our Take Ownership value and providing general PM support and direction when relevant.
  • Strong proficiency in project management and collaboration tools, such as Jira, Smartsheet, and Lucid, as well as MS Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Project Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
