Responsibilities
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provides specialized expertise in consolidation, governance, and continuous improvement of Engineering portfolio data to enable a reliable, auditable, and scalable portfolio data system and successor platforms. This role converts fragmented and evolving project information into trusted, standardized portfolio data that supports executive reporting, resource planning, investment visibility, and portfolio performance management. The role supports the transition from fragmented, spreadsheet-based reporting to governed, system-enabled portfolio data by establishing standardized data definitions, repeatable intake and update processes, and automated data flows. This work underpins accurate executive reporting, traceable project updates, and a performance-driven portfolio management model across Engineering.
Key Accountabilities
Supports the ongoing operation and maturation of the Engineering portfolio data system by maintaining a consolidated, validated inventory of Engineering projects, programs, and studies, ensuring it remains the authoritative source for portfolio reporting and decision making.
Prepare and deliver insightful portfolio performance reports, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities to inform executive decision-making.
Develops and maintains portfolio reporting frameworks that leverage data-informed insights and governance models to assess strategic alignment, investment performance, and realized value across portfolio initiatives.
Collaborates with management and delivery teams to recommend adjustments to the automation and ETL approaches, supporting scalable monthly and periodic reporting processes in response to emerging business needs, evolving technologies, and strategic priorities, ensuring agility and sustained value creation.
Oversee the end-to-end portfolio governance of portfolio data taxonomy initiatives, ensuring strategic visibility —from intake through execution to post-implementation review. . Supports the development, maintenance, and adoption of standardized portfolio level data definitions (e.g., project type, status, phase) to ensure comparability and consistency across Engineering delivery areas
Facilitate workshops and discussions that enable dynamic project prioritization and resource optimization using agile-informed portfolio management practices.
Provide recommendations to management and executives to inform decisions related to funding, resourcing, and workforce implications related to the portfolio data practices remain consistent, transferable, and resilient as systems and organizational portfolio.
Develop reports and communication relating to portfolio metrics for relevant teams, senior executives, and the board, including risks, dependencies, strategic alignment, and financials.
Maintain dashboards and reporting tools that offer real-time visibility into portfolio health and performance metrics.
Contribute to the development of portfolio governance frameworks, offering data informed recommendations during portfolio review cycles.
Assist in creating and managing portfolio management policies, methodologies, and processes, ensuring consistency and alignment with Organizational standards.
Supports integration of portfolio data with downstream systems (e.g., scheduling, cost, and reporting platforms) by assisting with data mapping, resolving inconsistencies, and supporting phased transitions as platforms evolve.
Identifies opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve consistency by automating data intake, updates, and validation through workflow automation and ETL approaches, supporting scalable monthly and periodic reporting processes.
Manages the selection, training, skill development and performance of consultants, and/or temporary staff. Negotiates and manages contracts and agreements with vendors, suppliers, and consultants. Provides input in departmental budget.
Monitor and track project financials to support execution of future initiatives. Establishes processes and internal- controls to inform decisions regarding investment and resource prioritization and approvals.
Provide data informed recommendations and advisory services to management and executives on funding, resourcing, workforce and capacity impacts, and portfolio tradeoffs across the portfolio, in support of senior leadership decision making.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a data analysis or data management role, supporting strategic initiatives, and portfolio management practices.
Other Requirements
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and make strategic decisions.
Excellent storytelling skills, enabling you to craft compelling narratives that resonate with audiences.
Adept at conducting workshops and facilitating discussions around technology and innovation.
Working knowledge of data governance concepts, including validation rules, access controls, versioning, and auditability
Experience working with current market prevalent project management information systems (preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Power BI,).
Experience crafting executive-level reports and enterprise-wide communications
ASSETS
Experience with Microsoft Dataverse, Power Platform, or comparable enterprise data platforms used for structured data capture and workflow enabled reporting.
Experience supporting automated workflows to improve data reliability and reduce manual processing

Rate of Pay
The salary for this position ranges from $84,480 - $126,720 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
