  • Your responsibilities* As the Senior Finance Officer, you will
  • Provide expert advice and ensure compliance with legislation, frameworks, policies, and practices related to financial management, governance, and internal controls within the department.
  • Contribute to financial reporting, including monthly, annual, and CFO assurance processes, while maintaining and improving financial management policies, systems, and delegation frameworks.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Queensland Treasury, Queensland Audit Office, and other key partners, to support financial governance and information sharing.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high-quality service delivery, while adapting to evolving departmental priorities and ensuring alignment with government directives and standards.

The Position Requires An Applicant Who Can

  • Provide accurate and timely advice on financial management, governance, legislation, policies, and practices, while ensuring compliance with government directives, accounting standards, and departmental policies.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including monthly and annual reports, in line with statutory requirements and best practices, and support the CFO assurance process by coordinating inputs and identifying improvements.
  • Develop and implement corporate governance, audit, and internal control measures, while contributing to financial system requirements, accounting policies, and related management activities.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of responsiveness, continuous improvement, and innovation to address financial governance and reporting issues.
