Python Developer - SQL/SAS

Typical Day in Role:

  • Be a self-starter to independently resolve, investigate, and analyze requests, issues, and deliverables.
  • Support application month-end and quarter-end batch processing end-to-end including monitoring and investigation related to risk model calculations and Capital/Regulatory reporting.
  • Lead discussions with business and technology partners for changes as the application SME and solution for enhancement/ bug fixes.
  • Coordinate with upstream and downstream operational teams to ensure issues and operational changes are properly communicated to stakeholders.
  • Provide stakeholders with precise communication, artifacts, and clarification as pertains to month-end support, user requests, issues, and deliverables.
  • Proactively learn about application, IT processes, and research on new technology.
  • Augment/ produce documentation and artifacts.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience as a developer
  • 2+ years SQL experience (running queries+ development + optimization + data modelling/mining)
  • 5+ years’ development experience with Python
  • 3+ years’ experience with Database Systems: Hive/Hadoop/MINIO, DB2 and SQL Server
  • Experience with SAS, Informatica, DataStage
  • Experience with Bitbucket/Git


Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • QA Testing experience be able to ensure testing coverage for new requirements and changes.


Soft Skills Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate is expected to interact on an ongoing basis with various teams to gather requirements, document and analyze issues, present findings and formulate solutions. The candidate is also expected to write technical and business requirements, user guides, operational documentation, etc.
  • Critical thinking skills. Ability to Investigate, analyze, and resolve complex problems and think outside of the box to resolve issues, and propose solutions.
  • Strong collaboration skills required as this role works with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong data analytic skillset is a must, combined with SQL for the purpose of data solutioning, testing/validation and gap analysis.
  • Self starter, and passion for driving teams towards high performance and a deep pride in providing high quality results.
  • Detail oriented, methodical and has ability to translate business ideas into automated solutions.
  • Effective organizational skills, with working knowledge of project planning and project management to assume end-to-end ownership of a project and responsibility for the related project deliverables.


Education:

Bachelor’s in technical field
