Cloud Engineer - Management On-premise platform

About TenneT, unit, department and team
TenneT is the leading European grid operator and plays a key role in the energy transition. With more than 23,500 kilometers of high-voltage connections and thousands of employees, we ensure a safe and reliable power supply in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany.
You will be working within the TenneT Digital Platform (TDP) unit. This unit is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing digital platforms that are essential for data-driven working within TenneT.
Within this unit, you work in the department focused on the data platform, where work is done on the management, further development, and modernization of data solutions.
You will join a multidisciplinary Scrum team focused on managing and further developing the existing data platform and the transition to a cloud-native environment. This team contributes to the modernization and future-proofing of TenneT's IT landscape.
The position:
How do you keep the Netherlands running? As a Cloud Engineer, you work on the management, stability, and optimization of the existing data platform within TenneT. You actively contribute to the transition to a modern, cloud-native platform.
Your duties include, among other things:
• Managing, maintaining, and optimizing Hadoop and Kubernetes applications
• Monitoring the stability, performance, and availability of application stacks
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical disruptions within the platform
• Designing and developing scripts and automations to reduce manual work
• Implementing technical improvements within existing applications and processes
• Supporting data migrations towards cloud-native solutions
• Assist in opening up and maintaining network connections
• Collaborate within agile teams and participate in refinements and stand-ups
You work closely with Product Owners, Cloud Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Architects, and Infrastructure Engineers, among others.
What are you bringing?
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Linux-based environments is a requirement
• Basic knowledge of scripting (preferably Bash and Python)
• Experience with or knowledge of Hadoop is a requirement
• Affinity with cloud-native technologies and automation is a plus
• Experience with data migration is a plus
• Experience with Terraform and Ansible is a major plus
• Knowledge of Packer is a plus

• Not shying away from technical challenges and complex issues
• Able to work within an enterprise environment with complex processes and dependencies

Important:
• Focus is on management, stability, and further development of the data platform (Linux / GitHub)
• Strong emphasis on automation and reducing manual work
• Experience within an enterprise environment is essential
• Collaboration and team fitness are crucial for success
• Contributing to the cloud-native transition is an important part of the role
