Visiting Faculty Position in Data Science

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at American University of Sharjah (AUS) is accepting applications for a one-year visiting position commencing August 2026. Applicants with research interests in data science or data mining will be considered. A PhD in Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics is required by the appointment start date. Evidence of excellence in teaching at all levels of the curriculum and strong communication skills in English are expected. Experience in North American-style higher education is highly desirable.

A complete application consists of two PDF files. The first file contains a cover letter and a teaching statement. The second file contains the candidate's curriculum vitae and contact details for three references. These references should provide letters of recommendation commenting on the applicant's research and teaching abilities.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at AUS offers diverse programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Data Science, a PhD in Mathematics, a Master of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and minors in applied and computational mathematics, actuarial mathematics, and data science.
