Mid-Level Backend Engineer (Go / Distributed Systems) - Remote-First - £70,000–£100,000 + Bonus + Equity
We’re working with a fast-growing cybersecurity company that has already reached unicorn status and continues to scale rapidly across global markets.
The business founded over 6 years ago is expected to grow to approximately 700 employees by the end of 2026, alongside partnerships with more than 5,000 enterprise clients worldwide.
As part of this continued expansion, the company is investing heavily in its engineering organisation in the UK and is now hiring a three mid level engineers to join a highly technical team building modern, scalable backend systems in Go.
The engineering function is actively modernising core platform services, improving system performance, and evolving backend architecture to support large-scale enterprise usage. There is also growing adoption of AI across both engineering workflows and product development, making this a forward-looking environment for engineers who want to work with modern tools and systems.
In this role, you’ll:
• Build and maintain backend services using Golang
• Work on distributed systems that support high-scale enterprise usage
• Improve performance, reliability, and latency across core platform services
• Collaborate with senior engineers, platform teams, and product stakeholders
• Contribute to architecture discussions and engineering best practices
• Develop your skills working on complex, real-world systems at scale
What they’re looking for:
• 3–5 years of backend engineering experience
• Strong experience with Golang or another modern backend language
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and scalable system design
• Computer Science degree or equivalent technical background
• Interest in backend performance, scalability, and modern engineering practices
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, product-led environments
The package is between £70,000–£100,000 base salary, plus bonus, plus equity. This is a remote-first role across the UK London travel expected approximately 10–12 times per year to London. You are welcome to go every day to there central office London if you prefer more onsite work.
