Game Developer – 2D Puzzle, Hybrid Sydney

This role is ideal for a skilled game developer passionate about bringing creative concepts to life. You will collaborate closely with a designer who has already finalized the game's visual themes, mechanics, and graphics. Your primary responsibility will be to transform these assets and ideas into a fully functional 2D desktop puzzle game. The position is hybrid, requiring some on-site presence in Sydney, Australia, and offers the opportunity to work on a unique, visually engaging project from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement core gameplay mechanics for a 2D puzzle game using Unity or a comparable engine
• Integrate provided graphics, themes, and assets into the game environment
• Collaborate with the designer to ensure accurate translation of concepts into interactive features
• Optimize game performance for desktop platforms
• Conduct testing, debugging, and refinement to ensure a smooth player experience
• Document code and development processes for future updates or handover
  
  

Skills And Requirements

• Proven experience in 2D game development, preferably with Unity
• Strong programming skills in C# or similar languages relevant to game development
• Ability to work with pre-existing graphics and design assets
• Familiarity with desktop game deployment and optimization
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a hybrid work environment
• Based in or able to commute to Sydney, Australia for on-site collaboration as needed
