Back End Developer (Java / Spring Boot)

We’re working with a leading global financial services organisation as they continue to scale out their Dublin engineering function following a major new client win.

They’re looking to hire Senior Backend Engineers to join a high-performing team working on large-scale, business-critical platforms responsible for processing complex financial transactions.

The Role

This is a backend-leaning engineering role, focused on building and enhancing core systems within a modern microservices environment.

You’ll be working on high-visibility initiatives tied directly to new client onboarding, with strong exposure across global teams and systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and building backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Working within a microservices architecture in a distributed systems environment
• Contributing to system enhancements and performance improvements
• Collaborating with global engineering teams across multiple regions
• Working within an established, production-scale platform (not greenfield)

What They’re Looking For

Core requirements:

• Strong experience with Java (Core Java) and Spring Boot
• Experience working within microservices-based systems
• Solid backend engineering background

Nice to have (not essential):

• Exposure to event-driven architecture (e.g. Kafka)
• Experience with Oracle or other relational databases
• Any exposure to Angular or frontend frameworks
• Background in financial services or data-heavy platforms
• Experience with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to EAGLE or similar financial platforms (rare but advantageous)
