As a Senior Typescript & AI Backend Developer at Emergn you will design and build scalable, reliable backend systems that power AI orchestration workflows, owning core services that bring AI features to life in production.

We want you to:

• Design and implement Node.js/TypeScript backend services that power AI workflows, including prompt management, tool calling, and multi-agent reasoning flows.
• Build and maintain integrations with LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, etc.) and implement RAG pipelines with vector databases.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of backend systems through robust architecture, observability, and best practices.
• Lead technical design discussions, mentor other backend engineers, and collaborate closely with ML engineers and product managers.
• Own CI/CD contributions, automated testing, and incident response for AI backend services.

This job might be for you if you have:

• 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 3+ years focused on backend development in TypeScript/Node.js.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM/AI APIs into production backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of API design, relational/NoSQL databases, async programming, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar, and/or workflow engines like Temporal or AWS Step Functions.
• Familiarity with observability tooling, Docker, and solid testing practices in TypeScript.

Location requirement:

• You must be based in Latvia.
