Lead Unreal Engine C++ Developer

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Unreal Engine C++ Developer to take on a leadership role in creating advanced testing frameworks and tools.

In this role, the Lead Unreal Engine C++ Developer will play a crucial part in designing and implementing sophisticated QA automation solutions for our upcoming AAA game. Your efforts will be vital in developing robust test harnesses, devising performance testing strategies, and enhancing the QA infrastructure within the Unreal Engine framework.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain scalable QA automation frameworks and tools leveraging Unreal Engine C++
Optimize and advance test harnesses to enhance test coverage and efficiency
Collaborate with QA teams to identify automation opportunities and deploy solutions
Develop observability and triage systems to manage QA automation results effectively
Revise and innovate automated tests to ensure coverage of key game functionalities
Ensure smooth integration of QA tools with the game codebase through close collaboration with game developers
Design and implement a streamlined system for managing QA automation results
Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to high coding standards
Provide guidance to junior developers and educate them on best practices in game QA automation

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years in Unreal Engine C++ development
1+ years of relevant leadership experience
Proficiency in C++ programming, with a comprehensive understanding of modern C++ standards
Extensive expertise in Unreal Engine and its best practices
Solid understanding of game QA processes and automation techniques
Qualifications in developing testing frameworks or automation tools
Familiarity with performance testing and optimization in gaming environments
Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and capability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Nice to have

Expertise in CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity)
Background in game backend services and scalability testing
Understanding of other game engines (e.g., Unity) or custom C++ engines
Proficiency in game networking and multiplayer systems
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools for test results
Contributions to open-source projects or game development tools
