The BI Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality data models, datasets, and reports that enable data‑driven decision making across the organization.
Working closely with business analysts, and data engineers, this role transforms data into reliable, actionable insights by leveraging BI tools, modern data platforms, and best‑practice data modelling.
The BI Engineer ensures that reporting solutions are accurate, scalable, performant, and aligned with business needs.
Key responsibilities:BI Development & Data Modelling
Design, develop, and maintain Gold layer datasets, semantic models, KPIs, and visual dashboards that deliver actionable insights.
Create and optimize data models for various business functions.
Conduct code reviews of Bronce and Silver layer pipelines to ensure quality, consistency, and performance.
Quality Assurance, Documentation & Governance
Maintain complete technical documentation for datasets, models, and reports.
Validate data accuracy across layers and support data governance, including naming conventions and metric definitions.
Troubleshoot and enhance existing reports to improve data accuracy and user experience.
Enablement, Support & Continuous Improvement
Manage change requests and promote best practices in BI usage and standardized reporting.
Provide user support and contribute to onboarding and adoption of BI solutions.
Drive continuous improvement by monitoring BI trends, proposing optimizations, and supporting automation initiatives.
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in Power BI, including dataset modelling and DAX.
Strong SQL proficiency is required to design and develop data entities, perform data exploration, execute thorough testing, and contribute to code reviews.
Solid understanding of data modelling, dimensional modelling, and semantic layer design.
Experience with ETL/ELT concepts, and modern data platforms (Bronce/Silver/Gold architecture).
Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaboration workflows.
Understanding of data quality, testing, and performance optimization.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence.
2+ years of experience in BI Engineering, BI Development, or Data Modelling.
Experience working in a modern data architecture (preferably Bronce/Silver/Gold).
Hands‑on, autonomous, and comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.

Reduction of manual reporting tasks through automation and standardization.
Strong data consistency and improved trust in business metrics.
